INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Baker McKenzie in Vietnam (www.bakermckenzie.com) (hereinafter referred to as the "Partners") would like to announce the 2020 Scholarship & Internship Program for students pursuing a law degree in Ho Chi Minh City. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese law students currently pursuing a law degree to improve knowledge on different fields of law and to practice analyzing legal problems relating to the following fields:
1. Intellectual Property & Information Technology
2. Labor and Employment
3. Mergers & Acquisitions
4. Real Estate
5. Dispute Resolution
6. Financial Projects & Banking
7. Tax & Customs
APPLICANTS: Full-time third-year and senior students from:
(i) Ho Chi Minh City University of Law;
(ii) University of Economics and Law - Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City.
NUMBER OF SELECTED STUDENTS: 3 best students will be selected to the internship and receive training in the aforementioned fields.
INTERNSHIP DURATION: From 02 January 2020 to 30 June 2020.
SUPERVISORS: Lawyers and legal counsels of Baker McKenzie.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Have excellent English language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills);
Have excellent skills in understanding, presenting and analyzing legal issues in both English and Vietnamese;
Possess a solid basis of legal knowledge;
Have passion and enthusiasm in working with lawyers, junior trainees and other interns of the Partners.
Be able to commit to a 6-month internship program.

SCHOLARSHIP: Each student selected to join the program will be awarded with a scholarship of VND18,000,000.
QUALIFYING ROUNDS:
1. Application Screening: Applications will be reviewed in order to select candidates for the writing test. The result is expected to be announced by 01 November 2019.
2. Writing Test: Candidates who pass the application screening will sit for a writing test expected to be held within November 2019. The result for the writing test is expected to be announced by 30 November 2019.
3. Interview: 10 candidates with the highest writing test results will attend an interview expected to be held by 13 December 2019. The final list of selected candidates to participate in the program is expected to be announced by 20 December 2019.
(Tentative dates above are subject to change depending on the availability of facilities and supervisors).
